The Steve Simmons Era Scholarship, funded by Alumni from 1970 to 1976, is awarded annually to an athlete, male or female, as chosen by the Coaching Staff.
Coach Simmons, along with his assistant coaches and support staff, graduated over xx athletes. Coach Simmons took over the reigns from Coach Purcell. Coach Simmons coached both male and female teams until the arrival of Steve Miller in 1976. In 1976 Coach Simmons left to become the xx.
